Clacton Camera Club is Clacton's oldest photographic club. Formed in 1939, the club continues its ethos of making friends through photography, and it is just as much a social body as a photographic one. The club welcomes anyone who has an interest in photography, whatever their skill level or medium they use, be it film or digital. We provide a friendly atmosphere on a Friday evening combining competitions with guest speakers, members' workshops, fun events and demonstrations. Many of our members are highly experienced photographers and are happy to advise and assist newcomers. Please take a moment to browse our pages and, if you would like to come along to any of our meetings, you will be most welcome.

 WINNING IMAGES 2020/1

You can now view those images that have scored 9 points or above in our Open competitions, together with those that have been placed or highly commended in our other internal competitions, eg Portrait, Natural History etc. Please note that links will only activated after the competition has taken place. Click on the appropriate button to view.

Congratulations to Jerry Watsham in winning our Picture of the Year competition with his image 'On the Beach' shown above

We are pleased to announce that our programme for 2021/22 will commence on 3 September 2021. Our weekly meetings will be held online (via Zoom) for the whole of the season.

Whilst free for members, we are making our online presentations available to non-members at a cost of £3 per event. Instructions regarding this will be shown here once the programme for the forthcoming season has been finalised.

NEW

As a result of the necessity of holding this season's open competition on Zoom, the normal categories of colour and mono prints have not been possible to include. The winners of the PDI competition are as follows;

2020/21 Open Competition

1st Jeff Cranwell - 55 points

2nd  Steve Oliver - 52.5 points

3rd Colin Brett - 52 points

Trophy winners 2019/20

Workshops are run on a variety of subjects, including knowing the basics of your camera, working in mono etc - the subjects are determined by demand.

Being a member entitles you to attend the evening workshops that are of interest to you, helping you to develop your photographic skills. Whilst these are suspended at present in line with health guidelines, we hope to resume these sessions at the earliest opportunity.
