About Clacton Camera Club

Hi. And a very warm welcome to our Web site. Many thanks for popping in to see us.How’s the photography going. ? Well there is no doubt now that digital photography is here to stay and is in itself a superb challenge to our  photography instincts. We at Clacton Camera Club try very hard to keep up with the intricacies of digital  and we are very lucky to have some members that will go the extra mile to learn all they can and then  willingly pass their knowledge and advice onto the other members.Over the years we have all learnt a lot and have had great fun in doing so.On the other hand, we do still have members who have stuck to traditions, slide films, wet work and the colour prints and we all still appreciate that this is still an important part of the photography scene. Our , in house, competitions are well supported and the standard is exceptionally high. We manage to hold our own at outside competitions which we take part in, competing against clubs/societies from all over East Anglia.

Last year we started an Audio Visual (A.V.) section and this too has been well supported and this again has been an interesting challenge to those that have taken part.Throughout , our aim is to help the photographer improve in all aspects of picture taking, although we do not go into the technical details too much, and our second most important aim is to encourage all our members to  enjoy their hobby to the full.

Our programme consists of top level speakers talking about,  and showing us, their  images which cover aspects of photography . Club members take up the challenge of running an evening occasionally for the members and open up important discussion points, and of course there are the open competitions and a few light hearted events.

This season, we are hopefully liasing with a local school that has just been awarded Arts Media status and is doing a photography course. Our hope is to encourage more younger members to the club .The initial planning is going well and the future can only look rosy .

If you are interested in joining us either as a member or a visitor, please contact our ‘Web master’, Ken who will only be too pleased to help you further.

Thank you, once again for looking at our site. Please enjoy looking at the photographs and perhaps we may see you one day at the Club.
